We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated teaching assistant to join our friendly and supportive school. The successful candidate will work within a Key Stage Two class alongside one or more teachers and will also work independently with groups of children. They will be passionate about children's learning; will have high expectations of what children can achieve; will have excellent communication skills; and will enjoy working as part of a team. The role will occasionally involve supporting in other year groups across the school (including EYFS) so flexibility is also essential. In return, we offer a welcoming, nurturing environment with a supportive ethos for all members of our school community. We are a popular one-form entry school on the outskirts of Potters Bar. We value the experience that all of our support staff bring and we believe in a positive and therapeutic ethos to all that we do in school. The school sits in a large open space, with a stunning outdoor environment and its own separate Foundation Stage unit (Nursery and Reception class). We have spacious, well-resourced classrooms, libraries and a sensory room. This position is initially offered as a fixed term contract until July 2026, with the expectation of this becoming a permanent position. You will be required to work from 9.00am – 12.00pm as a Teaching Assistant and from 12.00pm - 1.15pm as a Midday Supervisor, Monday – Friday, term-time only. Little Heath Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be required to undergo an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and provide references. Prior experience is preferable but not essential. Visits to the school are encouraged and can be arranged by phone (01707652104) or by email (admin@littleheath.herts.sch.uk).
