Job Overview Hywel Dda University Health Board is seeking to recruit enthusiastic and passionate Smoking and Wellbeing Practitioners to develop and deliver support to smokers admitted to hospital sites within Hywel Dda. There are 2 part time 20 hour vacancies one in Glangwili and one in Bronglais. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a friendly, committed, innovative and dynamic Health Improvement and Wellbeing Team improving population health within the Public Health Directorate at Hywel Dda. Main duties of the job The post holders will work collaboratively with patients and Health Board staff involved in their care, to deliver a specialist smoking cessation service based within the main hospital sites in Hywel Dda. The post holders will be required to deliver empathetic, individually tailored, high quality, evidence based, support and guidance to inpatients, outpatients and their families as well as Health Board staff. The Post holders will also be responsible for advising prescribers about nicotine replacement therapy for inpatients via drug charts and outpatients via community pharmacy. Training staff in brief advice, identifying and referring smokers on admission and the use of Nicotine replacement therapy will be a key feature of the role.
