Job Title: Quality Assurance Inspector Location: Durham Pay: £30,000 to £40,000 DOE Job Type: Full-time, Permanent Are you confident inspecting precision-turned parts in a fast-paced engineering environment? Our client, a well-established subcontract manufacturer operating a fleet of 28 CNC machines, is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to join their high-performing team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who’s not afraid to get stuck in, thrives under pressure, and takes pride in making sure quality is never compromised. If you’ve got solid experience with CMMs, engineering drawings, and fast-moving production environments, this could be your next move. Key Responsibilities: * Inspect in-house manufactured parts and finished components during production * Document results and complete inspection reports accurately * Program and operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) * Raise and manage non-conformance reports, segregating faulty products * Carry out Goods-In inspection to defined quality standards * Interpret detailed engineering drawings and understand tolerances What We’re Looking For: * Minimum 4 years’ experience inspecting machined/turned parts * Confident reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings * Proficient in using a range of measuring equipment, including CMM * Competent with Excel, Word, and general report-writing * Comfortable in a fast-paced subcontract machine shop * Proactive, hands-on, and confident in addressing quality issues on the floor Bonus Points For: * Experience compiling 1st Off Inspection Documents and Control Plans * Understanding of surface finishes and dimensional tolerances * A solution-focused approach and the confidence to speak up when things go wrong The Offer: * Monday to Friday, Day Shift * On-site parking * Company pension * A stable, long-term role with a respected engineering firm To Apply: If you’re ready to take ownership of quality in a busy machine shop and you’ve got the skills to back it up, apply today
