Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mobile Air Conditioning Engineer to join our engineering team in Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield and Chesterfield. The role involves maintenance and repair of air conditioning equipment, including service, maintenance and repair of split AC systems and VRV/VRF systems. Refrigeration experience is desirable but upskilling is possible for the right candidate.
You will work across various manufacturer plants (e.g., Daikin, Mitsubishi, Media, Toshiba, LG). You should understand installation designs and troubleshooting procedures and be comfortable seeking manufacturer technical support autonomously. You will be expected to complete all work-related documentation accurately and on time, and maintain logs of inspections, reports and remedial work.
Responsibilities
* Maintain and repair air conditioning equipment, including split systems and VRV/VRF systems; service, maintenance and repair tasks as required.
* Work on specific refrigeration equipment as needed; refrigeration experience is desirable but upskilling is possible.
* Understand installation designs and manufacturer troubleshooting procedures; seek manufacturer technical support when needed.
* Accurately complete work-related documentation and maintain inspection, report and remedial logs.
* Operate across multiple locations (Leeds, Manchester, Sheffield, Chesterfield) and be able to perform manual tasks including manual handling, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
* Possess a clean full driving licence and strong verbal/written communication; ability to use handheld devices (PDA).
* Work autonomously with a solutions-focused approach while also contributing as part of a team.
Qualifications
* Relevant qualifications such as FGAS & ODS regulations, time-served apprenticeship, C&G Level 3 / NVQ or equivalent.
* Knowledge of Health & Safety, Permit to Work procedures and safe systems of working.
* Experience with maintenance, testing and fault-finding on HVAC systems and lighting is desirable (upskilling available).
* Refrigeration or Air Conditioning specific qualifications (not limited to F-Gas) such as NVQ Level 2/3 in Air Conditioning and Small Refrigeration; City & Guilds Refrigeration and Air-conditioning (7189) Level 2/3; City & Guilds 6090 Level 3; F-Gas Category 1 (City & Guilds 2079); C&G 236 Part 1 & 2; and related electrical qualifications (BS7671, C&G 2391) where applicable.
* DBS check and references as part of safeguarding requirements.
