Overview We are seeking an experienced Plumber to work on void social housing properties, carrying out a wide range of plumbing repairs, installations, and minor multi-trade works. This role is delivered on a temporary basis through an agency to support a contractor's voids and property turnaround programme.
You'll be responsible for bringing empty homes up to lettable standards, ensuring all plumbing systems are safe, functional, and compliant.
Key Responsibilities Carry out plumbing works within void social housing properties, including: Pipework repairs and replacements
Installing or replacing taps, traps, wastes, and fixtures
Fitting sinks, basins, baths, toilets, and showers
Hot and cold water system repairs
Fault finding and basic leak detection
Perform light multi-trade tasks such as: Basic joinery (e.g., boxing in, bath panels)
Minor patch plastering
Silicone sealing and basic making good
Ensure all work meets social housing and compliance standards.
Work across multiple properties independently, managing workload and time effectively.
Accurately record completed works, materials used, and any follow-on requirements.
Maintain health & safety standards and ensure safe working practices at all times.
Liaise professionally with housing staff and operatives when required.
Skills & Experience Required Demonstrable experience as a Plumber in domestic properties, ideally within social housing, voids, or responsive repairs environments.
Strong diagnostic skills with the ability to work independently.
Ability to complete small multi-trade tasks as part of whole-property refurbishments.
Understanding of void property turnaround requirements and compliance.
High-quality workmanship and attention to detail.
Qualifications & Requirements NVQ Level 2/3 in Plumbing & Heating (or equivalent).
City & Guilds qualifications beneficial.
Unvented/WRAS certification advantageous but not essential.
CSCS Card preferred.
Full UK Driving Licence may be required depending on the role.
Own tools (some specialist equipment may be provided).
Right to work in the UK.
Additional Information Weekly pay through the agency.
Van provided & fuel card
PPE provided if required.
Ongoing temporary work depending on contract workload and performance.
