As Senior Technician, you’ll be a key player in a major fleet transformation — helping shift the airport’s vehicle fleet to electric while ensuring operational excellence. You’ll work with a wide range of vehicles and equipment, lead maintenance activities, and mentor apprentices, all within a dynamic, safety-driven environment. What You’ll Be Doing Vehicle Maintenance & Repair : Diagnose, maintain, and repair a wide variety of airport vehicles — from shuttles to heavy equipment — ensuring all work meets compliance and safety standards. Team Leadership : Mentor and support apprentices and junior technicians, sharing your technical expertise and helping to shape the next generation of talent. Safety & Compliance : Drive a proactive safety culture, conduct regular inspections, and maintain records in line with regulations and internal standards. Fleet Transformation : Support the airport’s shift toward electric vehicles, helping introduce new technologies and practices aligned with sustainability goals. Resource Management : Oversee parts and tools inventory, liaise with suppliers, and support efficient, cost-effective operations. Operational Support : Collaborate with airport operations to ensure the fleet is ready, reliable, and aligned with daily airport needs. What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who’s not only technically strong but also takes pride in leading, mentoring, and solving problems in a high-performance environment. Must-Have Qualifications & Experience NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair At least 5 years’ experience as a technician, with 2 years in a senior or supervisory role Broad experience across diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance Proficient with diagnostic tools and repair software Valid UK driving licence Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and team collaboration Experience with EV fleet transition or sustainability-focused fleet strategies Understanding of lean or continuous improvement methodologies What’s in It for You This role offers the chance to work in one of Scotland’s most critical transport hubs, where no two days are the same.
