About the role
As an R & D Category Assistant at Reckitt, you will thrive in our fast-paced environment alongside a team of expert scientists dedicated to ensuring product safety and efficacy. Your meticulous attention to detail will be crucial in supporting technical dossier management and analytical lab compliance. Reporting directly to the R&D Health Instrument Expert Team Lead, the primary purpose of this role is maintaining laboratory equipment and providing training to the lab users.
Your responsibilities
- To ensure that all IET activities are conducted in a safe and compliant manner in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Health & Safety/Environmental requirements.
- To create and maintain a close, professional relationship with R&D Category, Operations and CTSG teams to ensure a high level of instrumentation support and strong communication channels.
- To use technical and logical problem-solving skills to fix instruments and assist in solving project associated problems.
- Timely scheduling of instrument qualifications with the relevant support service provider and management of their engineers, via the permit to work (PTW) system, whilst on site.
- Performing regular, scheduled preventative maintenance activities on equipment. eg balances and chromatographic equipment.
- To create, author and review instrument documentation such as User Requirement Specifications (URS), equipment manuals, log books, standard operating procedures (SOPs), deviations and change controls, and be capable of interpreting qualification documents.
- To deliver existing equipment training and develop new programmes that enhance R&D learning.
- To support IET team lead in procedure and process improvement.
- To support lab management in introducing new technologies.
- Operating the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) Instrument Management function.
The experience we're looking for
- Degree in a relevant Scientific discipline
- Experience of working in a laboratory environment.
- Proven use and knowledge of Analytical techniques and data handling. (eg HPLC, GC, Dissolution, UV, FTIR, Karl Fischer)
- Problem solver with a positive ‘can do’ attitude and an effective communicator
- Awareness of equipment qualification process.
- cGMP guidelines and Data Integrity (DI).
- Experience of writing SOP’s, technical documents and equipment related qualification and validation plans would be a distinct advantage.
