This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key part in supporting tenants, coordinating essential repairs, and ensuring homes remain safe and well-maintained. Full training will be provided, and there may be an opportunity for the role to be extended.
The Housing Repairs Team supports tenants with a wide range of repair and maintenance enquiries. From dripping taps to more serious property issues requiring urgent attention. As a Housing Repairs Officer, you’ll be the first point of contact, providing advice, raising repair requests, and ensuring issues are resolved quickly and effectively.
What You’ll Do
* Provide direct support to customers via telephone and written correspondence
* Assess, log, and process housing repairs using the in-house systems
* Update and track changes to repairs and work orders
* Liaise flexibly with contractors, housing officers, and internal departments
* Process invoices, respond to enquiries, and ensure accurate record-keeping
* Prioritise repair jobs in coordination with the Team Leader and caseworkers
* Support with repairs and tenancy administration, including new tenancies and garage stock management
What You’ll Need
* Previous housing repairs experience
* A proactive and organised approach, with excellent administrative ability.
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence in handling customer queries.
* A keen eye for detail and a conscientious attitude.
* Good numeracy and literacy skills.
* Solid IT skills – experience using housing systems such as Orchard is a plus.
* Ability to work effectively within a team and manage competing priorities
