About the Role: I am a parent of two neurodiverse children and live with multiple invisible health conditions. I am looking for a reliable, understanding, and proactive Personal Assistant to support me in managing daily life, household organisation, and occasional accompaniment to appointments and exercise sessions. This role will involve working closely with me in my home and local community. Sensitivity, patience, and a good understanding of how neurodiversity and invisible disabilities can affect day-to-day life are essential.
Essential duties involve a mix of practical tasks, administrative support, and emotional support as needed to maintain a well-run home and support wellbeing.
Key Responsibilities
* Household Organisation: Support with light household tasks to help keep the home running smoothly (e.g., tidying, laundry management, organising spaces). Assist in managing household schedules, reminders, and to-do lists.
* Appointments & Administration: Plan, schedule, and attend medical, therapy, or school-related appointments. Help with keeping track of paperwork, forms, and important dates.
* Shopping & Errands: Assist with grocery shopping, either accompanying me or completing the shop independently. Help with collecting prescriptions or other local errands.
* Practical Support for Wellbeing: Accompany and encourage me to attend exercise sessions, walking, or other activities to support physical and mental health. Provide a calm and supportive presence during more challenging or high-stress days.
Essential Skills & Qualities
* Understanding of neurodiversity and the varied ways it can present in children and adults.
* Awareness and sensitivity to invisible disabilities and chronic health conditions.
* Organised, proactive, and able to work on own initiative.
* Compassionate, patient, and respectful of privacy.
* Reliable, punctual, and able to maintain confidentiality.
* Comfortable with a mix of practical tasks, admin support, and occasional emotional support.
Desirable
* Previous experience in a Personal Assistant, Support Worker, or Care role.
* Experience working with families with neurodiverse children.
* A driver’s licence and access to a car (if needed for errands).
