Plumbing and Heating EngineerSalary: £46,000 per annumContract: PermanentHours: 42 hours per weekLocation: Kent (field-based with an office base in West Kent)Driving licence: Required (company van provided)The RoleAn established housing and property organisation is seeking a skilled and customer-focused Plumbing and Heating Engineer to join its in-house repairs and maintenance team. The role focuses on delivering safe, compliant and high-quality gas, heating and plumbing services across residential properties and associated sites.You will be responsible for fault diagnosis, servicing, repairs and installations of gas and wet heating systems, alongside general plumbing works. Safety, first-time fix, and excellent customer service are core expectations of the role.Key ResponsibilitiesCarry out gas servicing, breakdowns, repairs and new installationsUndertake plumbing repairs and fault diagnosisWork in full compliance with Gas Safe regulations, health and safety legislation, and industry best practiceDeliver a positive customer experience at every visitMaintain high first-time completion rates through effective van stock managementAccurately complete job records using mobile technologyLiaise effectively with planners, managers and colleagues to resolve service issuesKeep qualifications, certifications and technical knowledge up to dateTake ownership of personal performance, productivity and continuous improvementPerformance ExpectationsJobs completed on time and within service targetsProductivity equivalent to approximately eight jobs per dayQualifications maintained and compliant at all timesEssential Experience & SkillsMinimum 3 years' experience in gas servicing, breakdowns or installation (training included)Plumbing experience (minimum Level 2 or equivalent)Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilityConfident using tablets and mobile job-management systemsAbility to work accurately, methodically and under pressureExcellent communication skills, both face-to-face and by phoneStrong understanding of health & safety and dynamic risk assessmentsCustomer-focused approach with a commitment to equality and diversityEssential QualificationsCurrent Gas Safe registration, including: CCN1 - Core Gas SafetyCPA1 - Combustion AnalysisCKR1 - CookersHTR1 - Space HeatersCEN1 - Central HeatingUnvented Hot Water (DHWSS)NVQ Level 2 in Plumbing (or equivalent)Full UK driving licenceBasic DBS check required
