Role Overview

The Occupational Therapy specialist role: delivering occupationally focused assessment, intervention and consultation to inform and support formulation and delivery of the holistic MDT care plan and risk assessment. The Care coordinator/MDT practitioner role: contributing to the holistic assessment care planning and wider MDT functions. The OT team sits within the wider multi‑disciplinary teams providing holistic support for clients with complex and enduring mental health needs requiring secondary level mental health care. The base for this role is Reunion House, Clacton on Sea but you will be expected to travel to meetings and client visits at client homes, within the community and at other EPUT sites. Working within this busy team environment you will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of clinical skills; including but not limited to undertaking OT assessments, care planning, delivering interventions – through group and individual sessions, and the supervision and appraisal of junior staff. You will also build on your skills of risk assessment and treatment planning in your role as care‑coordination and duty worker. The post holder will have access to professional supervision and leadership within the team and will be supported to access a range of relevant development and training opportunities to enhance their practise.


Responsibilities

1. Deliver occupationally focused assessment, intervention and consultation to inform and support formulation and delivery of the holistic MDT care plan and risk assessment.
2. Contribute to the holistic assessment care planning and wider MDT functions as the Care coordinator/MDT practitioner.
3. Deliver OT focused assessment, treatment and interventions to community dwelling adults within the North East Essex area who are in receipt of care from secondary mental health services.
4. Hold an allocated case load of clients for whom you are the named Care coordinator and undertake Duty as part of the team wide duty rota.
5. Supervise, support and appraise junior staff; build risk assessment and treatment planning skills as part of care‑coordination and duty work.
6. Travel to client homes, within the community and other EPUT sites as required.
7. Provide professional references with business contact information covering your last three years of employment history.
8. Incure the cost of your initial DBS check relevant to your post; the amount will be deducted from your first salary with the Trust.
