The Role Volunteer Now is seeking a passionate and motivated Youth Engagement Co-ordinator to promote and develop youth volunteering, youth social action, and recognition programmes across Northern Ireland. This role plays a key part in supporting young people to engage meaningfully in volunteering and social action, while also helping organisations to involve young volunteers effectively. You will deliver youth work programmes, workshops, and events, amplify young peoples voices, and build strong partnerships that strengthen youth-led volunteering opportunities. This role may also appeal to candidates who have worked in positions such as youth project worker, youth development officer, youth participation co-ordinator, youth programmes officer, or community engagement officer with a youth focus. Key Responsibilities Promote and support youth volunteering and youth social action across Northern Ireland Deliver youth work programmes, including workshops, training sessions, events, and residentials Support the development and delivery of youth-led social action and volunteering initiatives Build and maintain relationships with young people, partner organisations, and local networks Encourage and support youth voice and participation across Volunteer Nows work Organise and deliver events that promote and recognise youth volunteering and activism Support the delivery of the #iwill movement objectives, including working with ambassadors and partners Recruit, train, support, and manage volunteers involved in youth programmes and events Contribute to the effective use of Volunteer Now systems, databases, and digital platforms Support organisational planning, monitoring, and reporting against agreed outcomes Identify opportunities for partnership working and income generation within the programme area About You You will be enthusiastic, organised, and committed to supporting young people to make a positive difference in their communities. You will bring: A relevant degree-level qualification plus at least 2 years experience working with young people in a youth setting, or 3 years experience supporting young people within the last 5 years Experience of delivering youth work, volunteering, or social action programmes A strong understanding of youth engagement, participation, and youth-led approaches The ability to build positive relationships with young people and partner organisations Excellent communication, facilitation, and organisational skills Access to a form of transport to enable travel across Northern Ireland A youth work qualification and experience of delivering youth social action programmes, campaigns, or youth-led events would be advantageous.
