All about the role
As a Junior .Net engineer in the Retail Operational Excellence team, you will join a dynamic polyglot group of engineers, primarily focused on building new functionalities as part of the wider Grocery and Retail domain, comprising several cross-functional teams. You will be collaborating with multiple product and engineering teams around the world, to help unlock new opportunities for customers and partners to improve their experience when ordering groceries.
Your role will be pivotal in fostering communication and collaboration. You will work closely with product owners, front-end engineers on web and mobile, as well as other backend engineers. Together, you will design and implement new features, enhance existing ones, boost performance, streamline platforms, and develop robust and scalable backend solutions that serve our extensive customer base.
Location: Hybrid- 3 days a week from our London office & 2 days working from home
These are some of the key components to the position:
* Track the progress that you are making towards the wider goals of your team, and transparently communicate that progress to your team and Technology Manager.
* Consistently produce high-quality software which fits the team’s expectations and best practices
* Contribute to the definition of product features, including in workshops with other product development teams.
* Communicate the technical work of your team to internal stakeholders.
* Take responsibility for supporting your changes all the way through to prove that they work well – and continue to work well – in production.
* Support our components in production.
What will you bring to the team?
Here are the skills and experience we need from you:
* .NetCore and general C# programming experience.
* Delivering high-quality software projects, using established best practices.
* Able to work independently and collaborate to solve complex problems.
* Amazon Web Services (or similar e.g. Azure, Google Cloud).
* Experience in an Agile environment (Scrum, Kanban).
* Good communication skills.
