Job Title: History Teacher

Salary: £150 – £240 per day

Contract: Temporary until 27th March 2026
GSL Education London Branch is excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an experienced History Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive coeducational secondary school in Hackney. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated History Teacher who can inspire students and deliver engaging lessons across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5 (KS3–KS5).
This is an excellent chance for a committed History Teacher to make a real difference in a short-term role. If you are an enthusiastic History Teacher who enjoys working with young people and supporting their academic growth, this role is for you.
As a History Teacher, you will work closely with staff and students to create a positive learning environment. The school is seeking a reliable and motivated History Teacher who can start immediately and contribute to high-quality teaching.
Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver engaging History lessons for KS3, KS4, and KS5 students
Teach in line with the national curriculum
Assess, mark, and provide clear feedback on students’ work
Manage classroom behaviour effectively
Support students’ academic and personal development
Work with other staff to support school goals
Maintain accurate records of attendance and progress
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualification
Proven experience as a History Teacher teaching KS3–KS5
Strong subject knowledge in History
Good classroom management skills
Ability to motivate and inspire students
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Right to work in the UK
Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to apply)
