Support Time Recovery Worker

Join Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust as a Band 3 Support Time Recovery Worker at South Kent Coast Community Mental Health Team covering Dover, Deal and Folkestone.
We need: Compassionate individuals with strong communication and organizational skills.
Our service focuses on promoting recovery for those people diagnosed with severe and enduring mental ill health. We provide comprehensive multi-disciplinary services and work closely with local specialist mental health teams (e.g. Early Intervention Service, Home Treatment Teams, MIMHS) tertiary service providers, primary care, Kent Police, local statutory and non-statutory agencies, service users & carers.
The post holder must hold a full, valid, UK driving licence and have access to a car/vehicle to use for business purposes (unless you have a disability as defined by the Equality Act 2010).
Main duties of the job
The main elements of community mental health support work focus on collaborative working with service users to promote engagement and to facilitate an optimum level of independence and self-management.
Our expectation is that you will endeavour to establish therapeutic relationships within which to address recovery goals in order to help service users to gain access to a range of resources and services to facilitate involvement and connection with the local community.
* Work closely with occupational therapists and to assist nursing staff with the effective functioning of a depot/clozapine clinic that will include well-being checks.
* Visiting people at their own home as required.
* Completing Dialog plus assessments by telephone or in person.
* Monitor and report on the mental state of service users.
* Provide support to service user, and identify needs.
* Opportunities to run recovery activities with Occupational Therapists

Person Specification
IT Skills
* Good understanding and application of IT systems - e.g. Microsoft, Excell, Rio
* Previous knowledge and use of Rio
Experience
* Has worked with adults with severe and enduring mental illness
* Knowledge of mental health diagnosis and presentation
* Good level of English language, written, spoken and reading
* Has delivered individual care and support with adults who are mentally unwell
Knowledge
* NVQ Level 2 in Care/ community Mental Health Care or agreed equivalent experience
* Ability to listen effectively and communicate effectively at all levels
* Commitment to undertake and to gain appropriate Level 3 qualification within an agreed time limit
