An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Financial Controller to join a growing group of businesses. This is a critical leadership role with responsibility for overseeing the finance function across multiple entities, ensuring robust financial control, accurate reporting, and effective team management.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Group Financial Controller will take full ownership of day-to-day financial operations, lead and support finance teams, and ensure timely production of monthly management accounts. This role also involves driving process improvements and strengthening the overall financial control environment across the Group.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead the Accounts Teams across multiple businesses within the Group
* Prepare monthly trial balances and consolidated management accounts
* Oversee the production of timely, accurate financial reports and analysis
* Manage payroll processes and ensure compliance with PAYE and VAT obligations
* Produce customer profitability reports and internal costings for key operations
* Identify opportunities to improve systems, controls, and reporting efficiency
* Provide strategic and operational support to the Group Finance Director
Candidate Profile:
We are seeking a results-driven, hands-on finance professional who demonstrates a high level of accuracy, leadership, and commercial acumen.
Essential attributes:
* A proactive, solution-oriented approach with a strong focus on delivery
* Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines
* Proficiency in Sage 50 & Microsoft Excel
* Proven experience managing finance functions across multiple entities
Key Relationships:
* Internal: Finance Team, Senior Management, Department Managers
* External: Auditors, Bank Representatives, Key Suppliers and Customers
