About the role
We are seeking an experienced Nursery Assistant as part of our Early Years Team
•Support pupils’ learning and personal development under the direction of teachers, helping pupils to build independence, resilience and confidence.
•Work with individuals and small groups — including pupils with SEND and those learning English as an additional language — to enable full participation in lessons and activities.
•Liaise with teachers, parents/carers and other professionals to support pupils’ needs.
•Participate in team meetings and contribute positive ideas and best practice to the wider team.
The role requires a nurturing approach, professionalism and the ability to adapt activities and resources to meet pupils’ differing needs.
About you — the ideal candidate
You are someone who:
•Has experience working in Early Years with knowledge of Development Matters and the Early Learning Goals
•Has experience of working in an Early Years setting
•Shares our high expectations and belief that every pupil can progress and thrive.
•Is patient, empathetic and able to build positive relationships with pupils and families from diverse backgrounds.
•Communicates clearly and confidently (verbally and in writing) and can contribute to assessments and records.
•Has experience supporting children’s learning (classroom, small-group or 1:1) and is comfortable working with pupils with SEND and EAL.
•Is flexible, resourceful and willing to contribute to whole-school priorities such as phonics, oracy and improving writing.
•Is committed to professional development and working as part of a supportive team.
Qualifications and experience:
•Literacy and numeracy skills sufficient to perform the role are required.
•Relevant Early Years qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 3 – Early Years Qualification list) and experience working in primary settings are desirable. P

Contract
8:30am – 3:30pm Monday to Friday with 50 minutes lunch
30hours 50mins per week Term Time only –
38 weeks per year + 4 INSET Days
Salary:
Level 3 point 5 rising to point 6 - £17,925.54 pro rata
