The Role – Head of Chemistry As Head of Chemistry, you will: Lead and develop the Chemistry curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 Support and mentor other members of the Science department Work closely with the Head of Science to drive standards and innovation Deliver engaging, inclusive, and high-quality Chemistry lessons Contribute to the strategic direction of the department and wider school Take responsibility for tracking student progress and attainment in Chemistry Promote a culture of excellence, curiosity, and academic success ✅ Requirements – What We’re Looking For To be successful in this role, you should have: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) A degree in a Science-related subject, ideally Chemistry Strong subject knowledge and passion for Chemistry Proven ability to inspire and motivate students Excellent behaviour management and communication skills Experience teaching KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable but not essential) Experience in middle leadership or as a 2nd in department is desirable Why Join This School?
