Your new company Our client is a renowned defendant firm with offices across the UK. They are currently recruiting for an EL/PL Lawyer to join on a hybrid basis. Your new role This Defendant EL/PL Lawyer role will see you handle a varied caseload of employer liability and public liability claims valued up to £100K. Cases are generally handled on a non‑delegated authority basis. Key Responsibilities: Assess primary and secondary liability in EL/PL claims. Work in accordance with client SLAs, producing initial reviews and setting case strategy. Review evidence including witness statements, medical and occupational health records, and inspection reports. Conduct disclosure, investigations, CMCs and applications. Instruct counsel, investigators and medical experts; prepare questions for medical experts. Prepare costs schedules, counter schedules, pre‑trial reports and trial bundles. Ensure compliance with regulatory standards and best practice throughout. What you'll need to succeed Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive Proven experience managing a caseload of defendant EL/PL files with previous litigation experience. Strong advocacy, communication and client‑care skills; able to operate to client guidelines. Ability to prioritise, work under pressure, meet deadlines and maintain high analytical accuracy.
