Deputy Home Manager - Children's Residential
Location: Stevenage
Salary: £34,000 - £35,000 per annum (DOE) plus an additional £3,000 - £6,000 per year for sleep-ins
Hours: Full-time, working shifts
Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential
I am recruiting on behalf of a respected and established provider of residential childcare services, seeking a dedicated and experienced Deputy Home Manager for a children's residential home in Stevenage. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior Residential Support Worker or existing Deputy Manager to step into a rewarding leadership role, supporting children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.
As Deputy Manager, you will play a central role in leading a skilled and compassionate team to provide a safe, stable, and nurturing environment where children can grow, develop, and achieve positive outcomes. You will work closely with the Registered Manager to ensure the home meets Ofsted standards and delivers exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities
·Support the Registered Manager with the effective daily running of the home, ensuring full compliance with Ofsted and organisational standards.
·Provide leadership, supervision, and guidance to residential staff, promoting a supportive and inclusive team culture.
·Safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people at all times.
·Oversee care planning, behavioural management, and risk assessments to meet individual needs.
·Manage staff rotas, budgets, and administrative duties effectively.
·Take responsibility for the home in the Registered Manager's absence.
·Contribute to the development and implementation of the home's therapeutic and child-centred approach to care.

Requirements
·Minimum of 2 years' experience working within a Residential Children's Home, ideally as a Senior or Deputy Manager.
·Level 3 Diploma/NVQ in Children and Young People (minimum).
·Sound understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding procedures.
·Experience in managing rotas, budgets, and staff teams.
·Full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle.
