You will play a pivotal role in building, scaling, and transforming the company's finance and operational capabilities.
Location: Oxford (Hybrid)
Salary: 100 000 + equity + bonus
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead day-to-day financial management, reporting, and controls
* Prepare management information and support corporate finance activities
* Manage cash flow and drive financial planning and analysis
* Support the commercial team on grant-related financial requirements
* Provide strategic insight and analysis to inform business decision-making
* Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and controls
* Partner with the C-suite on financial strategy and key initiatives
* Manage relationships with external accountants, auditors, and advisors
* Oversee HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee lifecycle
* Develop and implement HR policies, processes, and best practices
* Support legal, insurance, and company secretarial activities
* Contribute to operational improvements and scalable processes
* Prepare reporting and materials for the Board of Directors
* Provide line management and development support to a team administrator
* Help build and scale finance and business operations capabilities
Candidate Profile:
* Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
* Strong experience in financial management, reporting, and controls
* Expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management
* Exposure to corporate finance activities, such as fundraising and investor reporting
* Experience supporting HR or operational processes
* Familiarity with company secretarial and governance processes
* Proven ability to work in a fast-paced, changing environment
* Excellent commercial acumen and data-driven decision-making skills
* Collaborative and pragmatic, with a focus on driving efficiency
* Proactive, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
* Motivated to grow with the business and take on increasing responsibility
