We are looking for an experienced, driven and passionate Contracts Manager to help manage the County Council’s Strategic Highways Contracts and monitor their performance. Upon appointment, you will assist a senior team in their management of the necessary resources required for the delivery of the £500m Highways Re-procurement project relating to the Term Maintenance Contractor, Professional Services Supplier, and Traffic Signals Contractor which all expire on 31 March 2026. This includes assisting with managing resources allocated to the re-procurement project and to support the mobilisation of these contracts. You will also be required to assist with the management of Strategic Contracts (as required), provide advice, guidance and support to the Assistant Director Highway Services and the wider highways teams in their interaction with consultants and contractors. The successful applicant will have an excellent knowledge of NEC (New Engineering Contract) Engineering and Construction Contracts and will have proven financial management experience. In addition, excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills are essential to navigate complex contractual matters. You will hold HNC (Higher National Certificate) / HND (Higher National Diploma)/ Degree in Civil Engineering or an acceptable equivalent technical subject or previous experience in a similar role.
