Part-Time Payroll Administrator
We are recruiting an experienced Part-Time Payroll Administrator to join a well-established accountancy practice in Darlington. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who enjoys a varied role within a supportive and professional environment.
The Role:
You will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payrolls across a varied workload, ensuring compliance with UK payroll legislation.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Processing weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls
2. Calculating statutory payments, bonuses and holiday pay
3. Submitting RTI to HMRC and ensuring PAYE/NIC compliance
4. Administering workplace pension auto-enrolment
5. Preparing payslips and year-end reports (P60s, P11Ds)
6. Maintaining payroll records in line with GDPR requirements
7. Responding to payroll-related queries
Key Requirements:
8. Previous payroll experience within an accountancy or payroll bureau environment
9. Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation
10. Experience using payroll software such as BrightPay, Moneysoft, Sage or Xero Payroll
11. High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines independently
Desirable:
12. Experience with CIS returns
13. Knowledge of bookkeeping or general accountancy practices
14. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
