Job overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, motivated, and suitably qualified HCPC-registered Biomedical Scientist for the position of Blood Science Laboratory Manager within the Blood Sciences Department at Hywel Dda University Health Board.
Effective organisational and communication skills are essential, and the ability to work and manage a team efficiently is required.
The post holder will serve as the Laboratory Lead for Hywel Dda University Health Board's blood service at Bronglais Hospital in Aberystwyth.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will oversee the organisation and quality of work within the Blood Science team at Bronglais Hospital. They will provide expert advice and guidance to operational managers, site managers, and senior staff to maintain the blood science service.
Duties include collaborating with clinical leads to manage risks to ensure patient safety, maintaining up-to-date knowledge in their field, identifying opportunities for quality improvement, and ensuring an efficient and effective service.
