Reed Education is proud to be working with a highly regarded specialist school in Leeds to recruit a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). This is a long-term opportunity starting in September 2025, ideal for someone with a nurturing, patient, and proactive approach to inclusive education.

This outstanding school, located in East Leeds, caters to children and young people aged 3-19 with complex needs, including PMLD, sensory impairments, and medical needs. The school is known for its holistic, child-centred approach, state-of-the-art facilities, and a strong, supportive staff team.
With a focus on multi-sensory learning, communication through alternative methods (such as Makaton, PECS, and AAC), and therapeutic interventions, the school provides a rich and engaging environment where every child is celebrated and supported to reach their full potential.
Your Role Will Include:
* Providing 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex physical, medical, and learning needs.
* Assisting with personal care, feeding, and mobility (full training provided).
* Supporting the delivery of sensory-based and therapeutic activities.
* Using communication aids and strategies to support non-verbal pupils.
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and healthcare professionals.
What We’re Looking For:
* Experience working with children or young people with PMLD, complex needs, or disabilities.
* A calm, caring, and resilient nature.
* Willingness to assist with personal care and medical routines.
* A team player with excellent communication skills.
* Relevant training (e.g., Moving & Handling, PEG feeding, Makaton) is desirable but not essential - full training will be provided.
