The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for delivering pre and post contract activities to support the installation of a Liquid Air Energy Storage facility for an EPC organisation from supply chain engagement through to post contract administration and final account. This role ensures procurement and contract administration activities are cost‑effective, compliant, and aligned with project schedules and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement Planning
* Manage assigned procurement activities in line with the project schedule and objectives, budgets, and timelines.
* Co‑ordinate with package leads, and other functional leads to deliver required outputs.
Assurance
* Support the identification, pre‑qualification, and evaluation of potential suppliers/contractors.
* Be the subject matter expert in relation to procurement processes, procedures, and governance, providing advice and guidance to other team members.
* Maintain accurate procurement records, reports, and documentation.
Tendering
* Prepare tender documents including invitations to tender and tender submission forms, and tender evaluation models.
* Perform commercial reviews of scope documents.
* Develop pricing documents in line with the contract terms, conditions, and the works.
* Support contract drafting and review to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
Post Contract
* Support and/or advise package managers as required in relation to all post contract activities for a diverse range of contracts (services, design, or construction).
* Management of change (entitlement and quantum).
* Assessment of claims.
* Cost reporting.
* Assessing payment entitlement.
Qualifications & Skills
* BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying.
* Minimum 10 years' experience in major projects in the fields of infrastructure, major plant or similar.
* Experience with various standard form construction and engineering contracts and other bespoke forms.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
* Understanding of contract law and construction industry regulations.
* Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines.
* Proactive and able to work on own initiative.
* Strong contractual and commercial knowledge with standard and bespoke terms.
* NEC A–E preferable.
