Job Title: Practice Development Officer (Children’s Social Care) – Non-Case Holding Role
Location: Liverpool (Hybrid – minimum 3 days on site per week)
Rate: £42 per hour (Ltd company status)
About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced and registered Children’s Social Worker to join our Workforce Development Team in a non-case holding role. This position supports and mentors learners while driving high standards of practice across the service.
You will bring a solid background as a Practice Development Officer, with expertise in designing, developing, and leading the Assessed and Supported Year in Employment (ASYE) programme.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and manage the delivery of the ASYE programme, supporting newly qualified social workers.
2. Design and implement learner programmes that support the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) of social care staff, including Apprenticeships and Step-Up to Social Work schemes.
3. Act as a Practice Educator, supervising and mentoring learners and educators.
4. Deliver comprehensive training sessions grounded in expert knowledge of case management, policies, procedures, and practice frameworks.
5. Champion good practice and contribute to the Quality Assurance Service, including audits and reviews.
6. Ensure registration as a Children’s Social Worker with Social Work England.
7. Demonstrate prior experience as a Practice Development Officer.
8. Show proven experience in supervising and supporting social workers’ professional development.
9. Maintain in-depth understanding of children’s social care legislation and statutory duties.
10. Confidently deliver training and development programmes.
11. Be able to work flexibly on-site (minimum 3 days/week) and reside within the Liverpool area.
