About the role:
The EV Risk & Governance Manager, part of the Operational Excellence & Business Services team within Drax Energy Solutions, will:
1. Embed a risk and control management framework across the EV business, working closely with DES Risk & Governance and Compliance teams.
2. Act as a key intermediary with Regulation and Compliance teams, and DES Risk & Control, to build and maintain strong, effective relationships that enable our EV business to be compliant by design.
3. Contribute to the DES Risk Management & Compliance committee meetings throughout the year, drawing content from incidents and risk reviews.
4. Coach and educate colleagues on risk management, governance, and controls.
5. Use strong internal stakeholder management skills to influence the senior team in the EV business, with the confidence to challenge and have constructive conversations.
6. Provide support and advice on ad-hoc risk, governance, and compliance work as directed by the business.
Who we’re looking for:
To succeed in this role, you’ll ideally have:
* A qualification in risk, compliance, or governance.
* A proven ability to challenge decisions and drive process improvements.
* Strong people management skills with the ability to motivate and drive performance through coaching, influencing, and negotiation techniques.
* A deep understanding of governance, risk, and compliance frameworks from design to implementation, with strong risk mitigation and management skills.
* A driven and enthusiastic approach, persistent in delivering against business objectives.
