Registered General Nurse (Barrow in Furness)
Main duties and key responsibilities Maintain patient confidentiality and work within guidelines and protocols at all time Initiate and arrange a methodical assessment of patient and service need To be aware of health and safety issues affecting staff, patients and visitors and keep up to date with health and safety training Maintain accurate records of the care given, ensuring accurate data input into computerised systems. Assist and chaperone, when necessary, with the examination and treatment of patients. Key requirements of the role Minor injuries Industrial injuries Spirometry Removal of sutures/clips Wound management including compression therapy Phlebotomy Health promotion Health screening Undertaking planned and opportunistic tests and investigations at the request of other members of the clinical team Assist in and perform routine tasks related to patient care as directed Peak flow readings Hypertension management Weight monitoring and support Health promotion First aid and management of emergencies e.g. cardiac arrest, shock, haemorrhage New patient medicals/urinalysis ECGs This Job Description is not exhaustive and may change as the post develops.
