Role Overview
Connect2Socialwork is recruiting an experienced Family Safeguarding Social Worker to join a Children's Services team in Surrey. This is a rewarding opportunity to deliver high‑quality, relationship‑based social work to children and families at Tier 4 of the Surrey Safeguarding Children Board's Effective Family Resilience Framework.
You will play a key role in driving positive outcomes for children through robust assessment, purposeful intervention and strong multi‑agency collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a complex caseload of children and families, delivering high‑quality, relationship‑based social work
Undertake strengths‑based, proportionate assessments and develop SMART care plans, reviewing and updating them regularly
Identify and respond to safeguarding concerns, assessing risk and contributing to protection planning
Use professional judgement to differentiate between significant impairment and significant harm
Apply motivational interviewing techniques to engage parents and promote positive behavioural change
Work collaboratively with partner agencies and adult services to support whole‑family outcomes
Progress permanence planning for looked‑after children and promote their health, education, and wellbeing
Maintain accurate, analytical case records in line with Surrey County Council and data protection requirements
Share professional expertise within the team and support reflective practice where appropriateWhat's on Offer
