The Job Mission
This is a hybrid role, open to those within commutable distance of Bridgwater, or willing to relocate with support from a small relocation allowance.
As a Junior Piping Configuration Engineer, you’ll support the accurate management of piping design from early planning through to installation. You’ll be guided by senior colleagues while gaining valuable experience in a high-profile engineering environment.
* Support reviews of design maturity and readiness for construction activities
* Work with senior engineers to maintain accurate piping configuration records
* Track design changes and open points to ensure timely resolution
* Assist in preparing and updating technical documentation for handovers
* Liaise with project managers, engineers, and contractors to share accurate data
* Help administer digital tools used to manage configuration and design data
* Provide input into regular engineering meetings and progress reviews
Essential Skills and Qualifications
* Degree (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline
* Basic knowledge of piping systems, design, or configuration processes
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
* Placement or early experience in engineering or industrial projects
* Familiarity with technical drawings or design documentation
* Understanding of design change management processes
* Interest in progressing within large, complex engineering projects
