Electrician – Location: HMP Elmley. Salary: £38,333.37. Contract: Permanent, Full-Time (39 hours per week).
We are seeking a dedicated, fully qualified Electrician to join the Facilities Maintenance Team at HMP Elmley, a CATEGORY C & Male prison. We work Monday to Friday as a supportive team to maintain a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors. The team collaborates with Plumbers, other Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, Administrators and others to make a positive difference and support rehabilitation and safe operation of the facility.

We are a Ministry Of Justice business providing critical, time-bound services to HMPPS and are looking for an Electrician with a combination of qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities
* Perform electrical installation, maintenance and repair work in a prison environment in line with BS7671:2018 (18th Edition).
* Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary Facilities Maintenance Team to ensure safe and compliant operation of electrical systems.
* Contribute to planned and preventive maintenance programs and respond to electrical faults as part of a wider facilities team.
Qualifications
* Certificate in BS7671:2018 (18th edition).
* Level 3 qualification in Electrical Installation or Electrotechnical Services (City & Guilds/EAL), including relevant NVQs and competency assessments (AM2/AM2S). For example: 2367 or 2357.
* Two years’ experience working as a fully qualified electrician.
* Experience working on commercial or industrial electrical systems.
* Good working knowledge of planned and preventive maintenance operations.
* Good Health & Safety knowledge.
* Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
