Purchase Ledger Clerk Leeds | Up to £30,000 DOE This is an opportunity for an experienced Accounts Payable professional to join a well-established organisation within a fast-paced finance function. The business is a large, national organisation operating across multiple locations, with a structured and well-supported finance team based at their Leeds Head Office. They are looking to strengthen their purchase ledger team with the addition of a Purchase Ledger Clerk. This role will focus on the accurate processing of invoices, reconciliation of supplier accounts and maintaining strong financial controls across the purchase ledger. The Opportunity You’ll join the purchase ledger team in a hands-on role, supporting the day-to-day management of supplier accounts. Working closely with the wider finance function, you’ll play a key role in ensuring invoices are processed efficiently, discrepancies are resolved and records are kept accurate and up to date. You’ll have the opportunity to: Work within a large, established organisation Be part of a structured and supportive finance team Develop your experience within a fast-paced environment Contribute to improving processes and efficiencies Gain exposure to a high-volume transactional finance function What you’ll get involved in Your responsibilities will include: Processing and inputting supplier invoices accurately and within deadlines Matching purchase orders to invoices and investigating discrepancies Reconciling supplier statements and resolving outstanding issues Monitoring accounts to ensure payment allocations are up to date Responding to supplier and internal queries regarding invoices and payments Supporting audits by providing relevant documentation and explanations Contributing to process improvements within the accounts payable function Who this is for You’ll likely be someone who: Has previous experience in a finance assistant or accounts payable role Has strong attention to detail and accurate data entry skills Is confident working with high volumes of financial data Has good communication and relationship-building skills Is organised, self-motivated and able to manage multiple priorities Is comfortable using Excel and accounting systems The environment This is a busy and fast-paced finance function within a large organisation. The role is fully office-based at the Leeds Head Office, offering a collaborative team environment and strong day-to-day support.
