Job Description As the Building Manager for Lynx House, Portsmouth you will lead on delivering all building and facilities management functions within the Workplace Operations Portsmouth Regional Team. You will have day to day accountability and responsibility for all building related health and safety, fire safety, incident planning, business continuity and sustainability requirements in the high-profile Government Hub of Lynx House. You will lead on customer engagement with building users from HMRC and other Government Departments, providing a first class building and excellent services for our customers. Person Specification Responsibilities: Here are some of the things you'll be responsible for as our Building Manager (Portsmouth Region): Provide G7 HOE with assurance of Health & Safety, Incident Planning and Business Continuity plans for the Region. Lead a small team of Subject Matter Experts to support you in this area. Ensure BCP plans within the Government Hub are correctly exercised and action arising is taken forward Assurance that fire safety plans are in place and that the buildings fire safety and emergency procedures fulfil departmental and legal requirements. Act as Estates Single Point Of Contact (SPOC) for HMRC Lines of Business and other Government. Support departments within the Region and broker contacts with specific business areas to support any tasks required. Monitor customer activity and develop an understanding of customer issues, resolving or escalating where appropriate. Be proactive in holding meetings with high profile customers to facilitate real-time working and customer engagement. Membership of appropriate local H&S Committee and House Committee, supporting the HOE to chair these and resolve issues arising from them. Work with H&S Manager in the team to monitor and ensure all unresolved building related risks are escalated appropriately. Act as interim Command & Control Team leader on behalf of the Grade 7 Lead for business continuity incidents, taking control until Grade 7 Lead is able to attend. Take responsibility for day-to-day resolution of any building related security issues in conjunction with the building Security Manager, including changes to the threat alert status and associated tasks. Using the security incident reporting tool to monitor trends in building related issues, taking any necessary control steps to mitigate those trends. Deal with any requirements under Industrial Action – reporting, H & S cover etc. Actively promote, encourage, and support the pursuit of HMRC's sustainable development targets and initiatives. Provide advice, guidance, and support to team members on specific issues arising from customer insight. Essential Criteria To be successful in this position the post holder must be able to demonstrate significant recent experience of: Building management. Health and Safety. Business continuity. Working within a property profession / facilities management discipline. Delivering strong customer service. Qualifications Essential to develop towards: If not already held, you must be willing to obtain IWFM Level 5, IWFM Member Certification Level 5 or equivalent within 24 months of take up duty.
