Cheshire West and Chester Council are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Highways Engineering Technician post (Grade -) within our Chester Highways Office. The role will be working within a highly productive Team carrying out duties of general engineering technician duties within the Highways Offices for delivery of works across the Borough.
The principal responsibilities will be to contribute to the Transport and Highways directorate by delivering programmes of work across teams. To ensure effective, efficient, and safe delivery of works within the service for road users and the people of Cheshire West & Chester in accordance with Council policies, procedures and resources.
The job requires using a varied element of computer systems including: AutoCAD, Microsoft packages including Teams, Excel and Word and specialist applications such as Confirm.
The applicant will have at least three A levels at Grades A- C including Mathematics and Physical Science or their equivalent. Self-motivated with a can-do approach you will be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences from members of the public to elected members. You will have experience of working in a team environment and understand the needs of our different customers.
A basic knowledge of Health and Safety legislation is an essential requirement together with knowledge of computer systems.
