Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry
The closing date is 03 June 2026. This role offers a chance to join an established team providing paediatric dental services, postgraduate training and research at the Royal National ENT & Eastman Dental Hospitals (UCLH NHS Foundation Trust).
Main duties
* Work 9PA's within the paediatric dental department, including diagnosis, treatment planning and treatment under general anaesthetic and sedation.
* Supervise trainees and postgraduate students, and participate in multidisciplinary clinics (hypodontia, ortho‑paeds, anomalies and oral medicine).
* Provide remote advice clinics as required.
* Demonstrate drive and initiative toward patient care, lead teams and attend mandatory training.
* Maintain electronic clinical records and continually improve service delivery.
Person Specification
* Full registration with the UK General Dental Council and a current licence to practice.
* On the UK GDC Specialist List in Paediatric Dentistry by appointment.
* Membership or equivalent in Paediatric Dentistry and a Certificate of Accreditation or eligibility for a CCST.
* Intercollegiate Specialty Fellowship Exit Examination in Paediatric Dentistry (ISFE) or equivalent.
* Fellowship or Membership of the Faculty of Dental Surgery or equivalent.
* All aspects of paediatric dentistry with emphasis on severe and complex problems.
* Ability to manage multidisciplinary patients and coordinate care.
* Experience with orthodontic techniques and innovative treatments; evidence of successful outcomes.
* Completion of an SAC‑approved 3‑year paediatric dentistry training programme or equivalent.
* Effective participation and leadership in audit and clinical governance.
* Experience in healthcare delivery and team management within the NHS.
* Capability to appraise scientific literature, apply evidence‑based practice, and publish in peer‑reviewed journals.
* Experienced in clinical teaching and training of postgraduates and junior staff.
* Strong communication, accountability, interpersonal skills and teamwork.
* Commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.
* Personal responsibility for infection prevention and control.
* Disclosure and Barring Service check required.
Contract and Salary
Permanent contract, part‑time, £113,565 to £150,569 per annum plus London weighting, pro rata.
