The Assistant Finance Analyst provides analytical, reporting, and financial support to the UKI organisation, enabling accurate insight and effective decision-making. Reporting to the Senior Finance Business Partner, the role supports commercial and operational analysis, financial planning activities, and the delivery of key performance reporting. The Ideal candidate: We are looking for someone who is in the process of studying AAT (ideally level 3). This person should be comfortable working in a team and familiar with tools such as Microsoft Excel. Key skills and experience: · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an eagerness to learn. · Ability to interpret numerical data and present findings clearly. · Good communication skills, with the confidence to engage with stakeholders across the business. · Ability to work accurately, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. · Proficient with Microsoft Excel; experience with financial systems or BI tools is desirable. · Understanding (or willingness to learn) budgeting, forecasting, and management accounting principles. · Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. · A collaborative, proactive, and positive approach. · Part-qualified or studying towards a recognised professional qualification (AAT/ACCA/CIMA) desirable but not essential. What we offer: · Competitive salary · 25 days holiday · Healthcare-related benefits · Contributory pension · Volunteer day · Perks and benefits that include things like: free eye tests and retail discounts · A warm and welcoming team environment · Development and a chance to build a rewarding career Your day-to-day responsibilities will include: · Financial Analysis: Support the analysis of business performance—including revenue, costs, margins, and profitability—by preparing accurate and timely reports, commentary, and insights. · Reporting: Assist in the production of monthly management accounts, KPIs, dashboards, and variance analysis for use by senior stakeholders. · Budgeting & Forecasting: Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in preparing budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans by gathering data, validating assumptions, and preparing templates and schedules. · Performance Tracking: Monitor KPIs and financial trends, helping identify risks, opportunities, and areas requiring further investigation. · Financial Modelling: Assist in building and maintaining financial models to support business cases, pricing reviews, bids and tenders, and investment decisions. · Cost & Margin Support: Help assess cost drivers, monitor margins, and identify opportunities for efficiency and cost savings. · Stakeholder Support: Work collaboratively with the Senior Finance Business Partner and wider finance team to provide data, insight, and analysis to commercial, operational, and leadership teams. · Collaboration: Build strong working relationships across finance and the wider business to support alignment and effective information sharing. · Development: Proactively engage in learning and professional development, building skills in analysis, reporting, financial modelling, and commercial finance.
