Job snapshot

The Territory Manager’s purpose is to increase sales volume and revenue through medical device product sales while maintaining strong customer relationships and expanding market share.


Key Responsibilities & Competencies

* Achievement of Company sales, profit margins and product targets for the area.
* Comprehensive knowledge of the businesses involved, including product range, technical specifications, prices, benefits and sales strategies.
* Complete QBR objectives as agreed with Business Manager.
* Present products and services to clinicians, theatre managers and nursing staff.
* Educate customers and team members on product features, handling, new technologies and techniques.
* Make territory plans to achieve sales and promotional targets.
* Maintain and report daily sales activity reports, account records, expenses and other administration.
* Maintain a Business Plan to maximize territory’s sales opportunities.
* Review territory performance with manager and write monthly reports.
* Scan for and report on competitors’ activity.
* Promote and support nurse study days, exhibitions and workshops.
* Develop product knowledge through self-development and training.
* Professional appearance and presentation, ensuring appropriate attire.
* Excellent communication skills, adapting style to audience.
* Communicate regularly with Business Manager and attend conference calls and sales meetings.
* Assist with marketing, research and product launches when necessary.
* Understand financial operations, purchasing and funding practices of each client group.
* Influence, develop and negotiate with financial representatives to close sales.
* Use up-to-date product literature and presentations with stakeholders.
* Utilize computer applications and sales administrative functions (PowerBI, SAP Concur, HR Locker).
* Travel domestically and internationally.
* Create positive impact and convey confidence to others.
* Work effectively and cooperatively with others.
* Maintain a flexible and enthusiastic mindset.
* Establish and maintain good working relationships.
* Make decisions and take responsibility.
* Prioritize objectives, schedule work, and produce results.
* Handle pressure and setbacks, remaining committed.
* Possess highly developed interpersonal, networking and influencing skills.
* Solicit orders from present and prospective customers.
* Skilled negotiator and influencer with excellent presentation skills.


Key Requirements

* HND or Degree preferably in a business-related discipline.
* Strong sales history in medical devices, especially interventional or theatre procedures.
* Proficiency in prospecting, opening, stakeholder engagement, qualification, demonstration, negotiation, closing—SPIN, 4 A’s, objection handling, presentation skills.
* Business and opportunity planning.
* IT & computer skills (MS Office – PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
* Full driving licence.
* Professional skills – sales and territory analysis, budget management, presentation skills.
* Frequency of meetings with customers and decision makers.
* Frequent travel within assigned territory.
* Excellent written, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
* Strong organisational skills.
* Strong personal drive.
