Overview Of The Role
Are you passionate about delivering innovative environmental solutions and shaping the future? Mott MacDonald’s Environment, Nature, and Consents business seeks an experienced Senior Consultant to contribute to a growing pipeline of opportunities.
Our Environmental & Sustainability Services (ESS) team comprises over 100 professionals across 18 UK and Spain offices, involved in projects across energy, ports/marine, defence, water, rail, and urban development for diverse clients including authorities, government agencies, utilities, and contractors.
We lead environmental and sustainability workstreams throughout project lifecycles, advocating for positive environmental and social outcomes and embedding sustainability into decision-making processes.
This UK-based role can be based in any of the listed offices, with potential travel within the UK and internationally.
Key responsibilities include:
* Leading EIA screening, scoping, and environmental statement production.
* Coordinating technical input from specialists.
* Supporting monitoring programs, resources, and budgets.
* Assisting with business development and proposal writing.
* Engaging with clients and stakeholders.
* Mentoring team members and supporting their development.
Candidate Specification
Essential
* Relevant academic/professional qualifications.
* Chartership through a relevant organization or working towards it.
* Experience in environmental assessment, EIA, SEA, UK legislation, ESG, and sustainability strategies.
* Client-facing experience with stakeholder influence skills.
* Strong organizational, planning, and management skills.
* Experience leading multidisciplinary teams to high standards.
Desirable
* Bid/tender experience.
* Experience with TWAO/DCO schemes and sectors like Water, Defence, Energy, Marine, Rail.
* People management and staff development experience.
* Delivery of workshops and training online and in person.
