TeacherActive is working closely with several welcoming and well-established Primary Schools across the Essex area. We are currently recruiting passionate and dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their teams after the Easter half term, supporting children in both Key Stage 1 (KS1) and Key Stage 2 (KS2).

Role Responsibilities:
As a Teaching Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting teachers and helping children thrive in their learning. Your daily responsibilities will include:
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and delivery
Supporting pupils individually or in small groups to reinforce learning
Helping to manage classroom behaviour and creating a positive learning environment
Supporting students with additional needs, including those with SEND
Supervising during break times, on school trips, or during group activities
Helping children to develop socially and emotionally, building confidence and independence
Carrying out administrative tasks and keeping records of pupil progress
What We’re Looking For:
Relevant qualifications such as:
Level 2 or Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools
CACHE Level 2/3 Diploma
Or equivalent qualifications related to education and childcare
BUT – relevant experience in similar roles (e.g., youth work, SEN support, tutoring, childcare) is also highly valued, even if you don’t hold formal qualifications.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with KS1 and/or KS2 pupils
A patient, friendly, and proactive attitude
A passion for helping children succeed
Good literacy and numeracy skills
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
A full UK driving licence is a bonus, especially for schools located in less accessible areas
Important Requirement:
All candidates will be required to obtain an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one through us).
