As Aster Group’s Senior Fleet Manager you’ll be learning on our fleet strategy and associated management, providing the business and key stakeholders with efficient and cost effective solutions to fleet management. This will see you overseeing pre-tender procurement, building strong working relationships with our vehicle lease and franchise partners.

You will support the business by providing value for money with effective fleet management, overseeing the maintenance and service contractors to ensure that we keep vehicle downtime to a minimum. You’ll keep the business up to date by providing real time data dashboards on colleague driving behaviours and trends, making recommendations on improvement actions.

In role you will –


* Create a fleet network of lease and franchise purchases that meet the requirements of our fleet, offer value for money and meet budgetary targets.
* Work with the procurement team and other stakeholders across the business to design a fleet offering that improves productivity of our trade operatives.
* Create and oversee a managed program for all servicing and maintenance of fleet vehicles, ensuring minimum downtime and disruption to the business.
* Ensure processes are in place and adhered to in respect of Asters vehicle Operator Licence and compliance with all current legislation and regulations, including policy and legal updates.
* Manage the of Health and Safety obligations across Aster’s vehicle fleet, ensuring drivers understand and adhere to health and safety policies and comply with safe working practices.
* Manage transport budgets, demonstrating value for money ensuring compliance with financial regulations, measuring return on investment.



About you

Your career will demonstrate significant experience of running a large commercial fleet (minimum of 300 vehicles) and you’ll hold a relevant qualification in fleet management which will support the skills you bring to the role.

You will have experience of planning, setting and monitoring significant budgets of £3m+ per year and will have held responsibility of managing company VOSA Operator ‘O’ licence procedures.

You will be proficient in managing transport procurement processes and will have a high level of financial, technical and commercial expertise.

Your knowledge of transport law, health and safety legislation, traffic commissioner legislation and compliance will be at a subject matter expert level.

You will have previously held a people manager position and will lead with a natural coaching style.

This is a hybrid role where you can base yourself from home if you wish, travel for the role will be required within our operating region so you will hold a full UK driving licence and will have access to a vehicle for work purposes.


Our operating region includes Hampshire, Wiltshire, Somerset, Dorset, Devon, Cornwall and London.
