GSL Education are currently seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a school in Nottingham. This role provides the opportunity to assist pupils with their learning, support classroom teachers, and help create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.
Role Overview:
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils access the curriculum, develop key skills, and thrive academically and socially. You will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide targeted assistance and encouragement to pupils.
As a Learning Support Assistant, you will:
* Support pupils during lessons and learning activities.
* Assist with literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.
* Work with small groups or individual pupils to address specific learning needs.
* Encourage positive behaviour, engagement, and participation in class.
* Help maintain classroom resources, displays, and a safe, inclusive environment.
* Observe and record pupil progress to inform teaching strategies.
Requirements for Learning Support Assistant:
* Experience working with children in a primary or SEND setting is desirable.
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting young learners.
* Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
* An enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to apply).
* A full CV covering the last 10 years, with explanations for any gaps.
