An Council in Ilford is recruiting for an experienced Temporary Accommodation Visiting Officer to visit temporary accommodation properties and carry out occupancy checks and inspections.
The Role
The key focuses of the Temporary Accommodation Visiting Officer role will be conducting property inspections, verifying occupancy, overseeing maintenance, monitoring compliance, providing tenant support, maintaining records, liaising with stakeholders, and reporting on the condition and management of temporary accommodation properties.
This will include the following tasks and responsibilities:
1. Property inspections: Conducting regular visits to temporary accommodation properties to ensure they meet required standards and are maintained in accordance with regulations.
2. Occupancy verification: Verifying the occupancy of temporary accommodation units to ensure they are used appropriately and efficiently.
3. Maintenance oversight: Identifying any maintenance issues or repairs needed within temporary accommodation properties and liaising with relevant parties to address them promptly.
4. Compliance monitoring: Monitoring compliance with licensing agreements and regulations, taking action to address any breaches or issues identified during visits.
5. Tenant support: Providing support and assistance to temporary accommodation residents as needed, including guidance on tenancy responsibilities and access to relevant services.
6. Record keeping: Maintaining accurate records of property visits, occupancy status, maintenance issues, and any actions taken to address concerns or breaches.
7. Liaison with stakeholders: Collaborating with other council departments, housing providers, and external agencies to ensure effective management of temporary accommodation and support services for residents.
8. Reporting: Providing regular reports to supervisors or management on the condition of temporary accommodation properties, occupancy rates, compliance issues, and any trends or patterns identified during visits..
