Job Details: Job Reference: HCC623799 Salary Range: £48,948 - £54,423 pro-rata, per annum (actual salary £29,368 - £32,653 per annum) Work Location: Bar End, Winchester Hours per week: 22.2 Contract Type: Permanent Closing Date: 30 April 2026 Interview Date: 14 May 2026 The Role: Hampshire Music Service is the lead partner for the Hampshire Music Education Hub, delivering high-quality music education to over 10,000 pupils each week. Our work is supported by a dedicated team of around 160 specialist music teachers working across schools, settings and communities throughout the county. We are now seeking an inspirational and experienced Teaching and Learning Lead with strong secondary experience to champion high quality, ambitious, and inclusive music education across Hampshire schools. This is a significant strategic role at the heart of our mission to provide challenging, progressive and relevant music learning for all children and young people. What you’ll do: As Teaching & Learning Lead, you will work closely with the Strategic Lead for Schools & Curriculum, the Lead Schools network, and classroom practitioners to strengthen curriculum delivery, develop teaching excellence, and embed research informed practice across the Service. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the Curriculum Strategy by bringing expertise of KS3 and 4, supporting its implementation, and ensuring that it becomes embedded in everyday classroom practice across the Hub. Your work will influence the full range of Hampshire’s school-based provision, from L2M (our whole class ensemble teaching provision) and curriculum lessons through to CPD delivery, teacher development, and the design of high-quality learning resources. You will lead by example in your own classroom practice, providing demonstrative teaching, modelling best practice, and ensuring that our teachers feel confident, supported and equipped to deliver outstanding learning experiences for Hampshire pupils. A core part of the role is to drive continuous improvement, using evaluation, observation and professional dialogue to raise standards across provisions, schools and settings. You will support the design and delivery of high‑quality CPD and training for teachers, and will contribute to strengthening teaching and learning across the Hub area while promoting equitable access to high‑quality music learning for all. You need to be a leader with strong secondary experience; ability to influence, support and inspire others; and commitment to inclusion, equity and high aspirations for every learner. You will be reflective, research informed with a passion and strong expertise in curriculum design and teaching and learning, particularly at KS3-4. You need an eye for detail, excellent communication and relationship-building skills, combined with the ability to collaborate effectively with a wide range of partners.
