Salary: £38,333.37
Contract: Full time/Permanent
We are seeking a dedicated Engineer - Mech/Steam/HTHW to join our team at HMP Chelmsford, a Category B & adult/male Prison. As an Engineer - Mech/Steam/HTHW, you will work alongside experienced colleagues including Plumbers, Electricians, Carpenters, Painters, Cleaners, and Administrators, all dedicated to making a positive difference and providing a safe and secure environment for all. Responsibilities
 * Maintain and operate mechanical, steam and hot water systems (HTHW) within the facility.
 * Collaborate with the Facilities Maintenance Team and other trades to ensure a safe and secure environment for prisoners, staff and visitors.
 * Work to Water Supply Regulations and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
 * Work to BG01 - safe operation of boilers.
 * Support compliance with health and safety standards and procedures.
Qualifications
 * Two years' experience in a role as a steam boiler operator or equivalent.
 * Familiar with Water Supply Regulations and Control of Legionella L8 requirements.
 * Familiar with BG01 - safe operation of boilers.
 * Experience working on commercial or industrial steam, heating and water systems.
 * Plumber qualified to C&G 6035 (Plumbing), C&G 6189 (Plumbing and heating) and NVQ level 3 in Plumbing or equivalent.
 * BOAS accredited boiler operator course or equivalent.
 * Good Health & Safety knowledge.
 * Excellent organisational, time management and people skills.
