Specification Sales Manager
£55,000–£60,000 + Bonus + Company Car/Allowance + Benefits
The Opportunity
Our client is a market-leading specialist within the building services sector, providing innovative and sustainable solutions for complex construction environments. With a strong reputation for technical excellence and project delivery, they work closely with consultants, contractors, architects and end users across a range of critical sectors, including healthcare.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an ambitious and commercially focused Specification Sales Manager to drive business development within the healthcare sector, working on hospitals, laboratories, clinical facilities and healthcare developments throughout the UK.
This is a consultative sales role focused on influencing specifications at the earliest stages of project design, particularly across NHS and private healthcare projects.
The Role
As Specification Sales Manager, you will develop relationships with key stakeholders across the healthcare construction and estates market, ensuring the company's solutions are specified on new-build and refurbishment projects.
You will be responsible for building and maintaining relationships with NHS Trust Estates and Facilities teams, M&E consultants, Public Health Engineers, architects, healthcare planners, main contractors and specialist subcontractors. The role requires securing early-stage specifications, influencing project design decisions and supporting consultants throughout the specification process. You will also develop and manage a strong pipeline of opportunities across NHS and private healthcare developments.
A key part of the position involves promoting technical solutions that support infection control, hygiene requirements, water conservation, sustainability objectives and complex refurbishment projects. You will deliver CPD presentations, technical seminars and product demonstrations, while identifying and developing opportunities from concept through to project completion. Working closely with internal technical and commercial teams, you will help ensure successful project outcomes and long-term client relationships.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have a proven track record in specification sales within building services, M&E, construction products, public health engineering, or specialist plumbing and drainage systems. You will be experienced in influencing consultants, engineers and contractors and comfortable managing long and complex sales cycles.
Strong communication, presentation and relationship-building skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently in a field-based role. Candidates with experience in the healthcare or NHS sector, knowledge of public health engineering systems, or an understanding of UK healthcare standards and HTMs will be at a distinct advantage.
Package
The successful candidate will receive a basic salary of £55,000–£60,000, together with a performance-related bonus, company car or car allowance, pension and benefits package
