We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join the Mental Health team at HMP Fosse Way, a category C prison located in Glen Parva.
About The Role
The role is a crucial position within the healthcare team, making a real difference to patients and delivering outstanding care. The candidate must have at least two years experience as an Assistant Psychologist within a secure or forensic setting.
Hours
Monday – Friday: 0800 – 1600 or 0830 – 1630.
Salary
£31,000 per annum (full‑time).

Responsibilities
* Support and enhance the professional psychological care of patients within the service/team, across all pathways, providing psychological assessment and interventions.
* Identify patients who may benefit from psychological intervention, following mental health triages and discussions with the multi‑disciplinary team, prioritising according to clinical need, risk presentation and release planning under guidance of a qualified psychologist.
* Provide comprehensive psychological assessment, including risk assessment, and develop formulations to support patients and the MDT.

Qualifications
* 2 years Assistant Psychology experience.
* Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology.
* Evidence of foundation training in at least one evidence‑based psychological framework (CFT, CBT, DBT, ACT).
* Experience working with mental health forensic populations.
* Experience providing evidence‑based interventions to adults with a range of mental health problems.
