Technical Lead Engineer (Full Stack – Java / Vue.js)
Our client based in Manchester City Centre is looking for an experienced Java Technical Lead Engineer to shape and deliver high‑quality, end‑to‑end solutions across their platform. The role acts as the bridge between the Java/Spring backend and Vue.js frontend, taking ownership of feature development from concept through to delivery and ensuring seamless integration across the stack.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design and delivery of new features, ensuring performance, scalability and reliability.
* Translate high‑level requirements into clear technical solutions in collaboration with product and engineering teams.
* Maintain architectural consistency and drive best practices across the engineering team.
* Mentor junior engineers and elevate the overall technical capability of the team.
Technical Environment
Vue.js with modern frontend development, Java and the Spring Boot ecosystem (including Spring Data, Spring Security and Spring MVC). Solid understanding of RESTful API design, SQL/database design, CI/CD pipelines and AWS.
Qualifications
* 8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of leading technical initiatives and mentoring.
* Strong problem‑solving and critical‑thinking skills.
* Ability to work from broad requirements and shape them into robust, scalable solutions.
* Security‑first mindset; a background in cybersecurity is highly beneficial.
Location & Flexibility
Preference for candidates based in the North West, but fully remote candidates are welcome. The role includes one week per quarter in our Manchester office.
