Assistant Medical Secretary – Gastroenterology Department
Provide essential administrative and audio‑typing support primarily for Consultant Gastroenterologists and the wider team.
Responsibilities
* Apply excellent administrative and audio‑typing skills, supported by relevant experience or qualifications.
* Provide accurate audio typing and prepare clinical correspondence.
* Support Medical Secretaries across the Head & Neck Department.
* Print, process and distribute patient results letters, ensuring timely delivery to the post room.
* Manage general administrative and office duties to support the smooth running of the service.
* Demonstrate strong organisational skills, prioritising a busy workload effectively.
* Work confidently and efficiently without direct supervision.
* Maintain regular communication with the medical secretary team.
* Uphold high standards of confidentiality and professionalism in all tasks.
* Engage in available training and development opportunities.
* Contribute positively to a supportive and motivated team; flexible working options available where appropriate.
* Communicate effectively with patients, maintaining a professional and confident telephone manner.
Qualifications
* Strong administrative and audio‑typing skills.
* Relevant experience or qualifications in medical secretarial roles.
* Excellent organisational and prioritisation abilities.
* Effective communication skills.
