About the role
We are seeking a Senior Business Development Officer to join our AUB Academy, a dynamic hub of innovation and opportunity, passionately committed to transforming arts education and expanding access to inspiring creative learning for both domestic and international markets.
You will work effectively with the AUB Academy Manager, and lead on developing and expanding bespoke course offerings targeted at diverse audiences nationally and internationally. You will take ownership of market research initiatives, exploring sector needs and competitor trends to inform programme creation and expand partnership development. This exciting new role will involve cultivating strategic alliances with industry, civic organisations, education partners, and government bodies to enhance access, student progression pathways, and income generation.
With a strong emphasis on high-level outreach, marketing strategy, and stakeholder management, you will ensure effective lead generation and conversion through innovative promotional campaigns and tailored engagement strategies. You will therefore support the creation of impactful marketing collateral, oversee targeted campaigns, and develop new channels to amplify AUB Academy’s programme visibility and growth.
The Senior Business Development Officer will also be responsible for identifying and securing new income streams via commercial hire of university assets, venues, and capacity, as part of the delivery of AUB Academy’s financial targets.
You will be involved with shaping AUB Academy’s long-term vision of being a national and international leader in bespoke arts education, and supporting AUB’s civic and international ambitions.
The successful applicant will need to be a confident self-starter, with demonstrable project management skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills, experience of researching, planning, and the ability to deliver administrative and operational needs while ensuring our portfolio of courses are contemporary and accessible. You will be able to evidence a strong commitment to delivering excellent student experiences and a passion for creative arts education.
This position demands the post-holder to support occasional out of hours working particularly during UG summer recess period. A flexible schedule will be arranged in consultation with the AUB Academy Manager.
This position involves working with children (under-18s) / vulnerable people and therefore requires compliance with the University’s Safeguarding Policies, including the requirement for enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service clearance prior to the commencement of employment.? The University is committed to stringent Safeguarding practices, including in its practices around the recruitment and selection of staff, to positions which involve working with children and/or vulnerable people.? The successful candidate will be required to complete AUB approved Safeguarding Training.
